The Amor 5-Star Guarantee, Actually Explained

Most roofing guarantees are a page nobody reads. Here's exactly what Amor's covers, what it doesn't, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Most roofing companies put a guarantee on their website. Fewer will tell you what it actually covers, because most of the time the honest answer is "not as much as the page implies." Here's what ours covers, in plain language, no fine print you have to go dig up.

It's two separate warranties, not one

The first is a workmanship warranty: it covers the installation itself, for the life of the roof. If something about how the roof was put on causes a problem, that's on us, indefinitely, not for a year or two and then you're on your own.

The second is the manufacturer warranty on the materials themselves, which runs anywhere from 30 years to lifetime depending on the product. That warranty comes from the shingle or metal or tile manufacturer, not from us, and it only stays intact if the installation meets that manufacturer's certification standards. That's the part homeowners usually don't realize: a warranty printed on a shingle wrapper is worthless if the install doesn't qualify for it. Ours does, which is also why we're not the cheapest bid on most jobs. Certified materials and a documented process cost more up front than a crew that's just trying to get shingles on a roof.

Your deposit is protected before a single shingle moves

A guarantee about the finished roof doesn't help you if something goes wrong with the money before work even starts. That's a separate risk, and it's why we hold third-party accreditation (Directorii) specifically covering deposit protection, active from the day you sign, not from the day the roof is finished.

If we find something you didn't sign up for, work stops

Every estimate includes an attic inspection paired with a drone inspection, so surprises under the shingles are rare. But roofs are older than the paperwork sometimes suggests, and rot happens. When we find it: we photograph it, we stop, we call you, and we quote the additional work separately before anything continues. Nothing gets decked over and left for the next owner to find. You approve the extra work, or you don't, but either way it's your call before it's our problem to have covered up.

A guarantee is only as good as who's watching the job

The warranties above are what's on paper. The thing that actually keeps a job from needing them is a dedicated Site Manager on every project, someone whose job is watching the work as it happens, not just signing off on it after. That's the piece a warranty can't retroactively fix: most callbacks come from something nobody caught in the moment, not from a material failing on schedule.

What this doesn't cover

We're not going to pretend a guarantee covers everything. It doesn't cover storm damage to a roof that was installed correctly and simply got hit by something bigger than any roof is built for, that's what homeowner's insurance is for. And a manufacturer warranty is void if repairs are later done by an uncertified installer, which is worth knowing if you ever get a cheap patch job from someone else down the road.

Why we lead with this instead of a sales pitch

None of this is exciting. It's paperwork and process, not a photo of a finished roof. But the "5-Star" in our guarantee isn't a rating we gave ourselves, it's a standard: two warranties that actually mean something, a deposit that's protected before day one, and a rule that nothing gets covered up without you knowing first. That's a slower, more expensive way to run a roofing company than most of the industry chooses. It's also the only version of a guarantee worth putting our name on.

If you want to see what that standard looks like applied to your own roof, start with a free inspection at amorroofing.net, attic and drone included, same as every estimate we write.
