Sized to Your Roof

A 5-inch gutter is not enough for your roof.

Most Snohomish County homes should be on 6-inch gutters, not 5-inch. A 6-inch gutter carries nearly 40% more water. Pair that with proper pitch, hidden hangers instead of spike-and-ferrule, and enough downspouts for the drainage area, and your water stays out of your foundation. Mis-specified gutters are the reason basement water problems happen.

Sizing and Specs

Gutter decisions
most homeowners miss.

Five decisions that separate the cheap gutter quote from the right one. We cover them all in your estimate, with the reasoning.

  1. 01

    Size

Most Snohomish County homes should be on 6-inch gutters, not 5-inch. A 6-inch gutter carries nearly 40 percent more water.

  2. 02

    Pitch

Gutters need a slight downhill slope. Too flat, water sits and rots the fascia. Too steep, gutters look crooked and overflow.

  3. 03

    Hangers

Hidden hangers beat spike-and-ferrule. The cheap nail-through method fails faster, especially in freeze cycles.

  4. 04

    Downspout Count

Too few downspouts for the roof size is a common mistake. We calculate drainage area per downspout.

  5. 05

    Discharge

Downspouts should extend at least four feet from the foundation, or tie into a drain system. Otherwise you water your foundation.

What We Offer

The full gutter service menu.

New installs, upgrades, repairs, guards, maintenance. Every service runs the same documented process and the same written scope.

01 New Install

Seamless Aluminum Gutters

Cut on-site in continuous runs, no seam-to-seam splices that leak later. Standard 6-inch K-style with 3x4 downspouts for most Snohomish County homes. Color-matched to your fascia or roof accent.

02 Upgrade

Copper and Specialty Metal

Copper half-rounds, painted steel, and custom profiles for historic, architect-designed, or high-end homes. Installed by the same metal crew that does our standing seam roofs.

03 Repair

Gutter Repair and Resealing

Sag correction, joint resealing, hanger replacement, downspout unclogging, fascia rot repair where the gutter tore it up. If your gutter has five more years in it, we can get them back.

04 Add-On

Gutter Guards

LeafFilter-equivalent micro-mesh and solid-cover systems from two reliable manufacturers. We recommend them when tree cover warrants, not as a blanket upsell. Reversible if you change your mind.

05 Add-On

Downspout Extensions and Drain Tie-Ins

Four-foot splash blocks are the minimum. For sloped or drainage-sensitive lots, we tie downspouts into buried drain lines carrying water fully away from the foundation.

06 Maintenance

Annual Gutter Cleaning

Fall clean-out after leaf drop, photo-documented so you see what came out. Offered as a standalone or bundled with roof cleaning for existing Amor customers.

Bundle Option

Bundle your gutters with a reroof, save 15%.

If your gutters are older than 15 years or showing rust or sag, replacing at the same time as a reroof is cheaper than doing it later, and only Amor can coordinate the flashing at the roof edge correctly.

  • ~15% cheaper than standalone gutter job when bundled with a reroof.
  • Flashing at the roof-to-gutter edge done right, as one coordinated scope.
  • Existing customers get standalone gutter work on outbuildings and detached garages.

How much do gutters cost in Snohomish County?

Most single-family home gutter jobs fall in predictable ranges. The biggest variable is linear footage. The second is whether you want guards, copper, or tie-ins to a buried drain.

Gutter-only add-ons to a new roof project run about 15 percent cheaper than standalone because the crew is already onsite.

Gutter work by city

Seamless gutters across Snohomish, King, and Skagit.

Every crew is Lake Stevens-based. Every gutter installation project follows the same process, whether it is one mile from HQ or one hour.

Should I replace gutters when I replace my roof?+
Usually yes if the gutters are more than 15 years old, showing rust or sag, or the downspouts are rusty. Replacing at the same time is cheaper than doing it later, and Amor can coordinate the flashing where the gutter meets the roof edge correctly, which a gutter-only crew cannot.
What about gutter guards?+
Depends on your roof. Tree cover, roof pitch, and moss-prone areas all change the answer. We have seen guards solve real problems and create new ones. We install only two manufacturers of micro-mesh or solid-cover systems, both reversible. Our recommendation is based on your home, not a blanket upsell.
Can you fix the gutter a previous contractor damaged?+
Yes. We repair gutters we did not install regularly. If the fix is a reasonable investment (less than a third of a full replacement) we will tell you. If the gutters are past their useful life and a repair would just delay the inevitable, we will tell you that too.
How long do new gutters last?+
20 to 30 years for properly installed seamless aluminum, 50+ years for copper, shorter for galvanized steel or cheap vinyl. Bigger factor than material: whether the downspouts, pitch, and hangers were done right at install. Most aluminum gutters that fail early fail because of install, not material.
How much do new gutters cost?+
New seamless gutters on an average single-family home run $1,500 to $3,500. With guards, $2,500 to $6,000. Copper or specialty metal runs $6,000 to $15,000+. Gutter-only add-on to a roof replacement runs about 15 percent cheaper than standalone because the crew is already onsite and the dump fees are shared.
Can gutters be moved or re-pitched without replacing them?+
Sometimes. If the gutter itself is in good shape and just sagging from bad hanger spacing, re-hanging with hidden hangers at tighter spacing can save you a full replacement. Drone and ladder inspection tells us which bucket you are in.
Do you handle fascia and soffit repair?+
Yes. If we pull gutters off and find rotten fascia or bad soffit material, we quote the repair separately before we proceed. Never a surprise line item on the final invoice. If the rot is significant, we bring in our roofing carpenters to handle it.
